About Tom

Born in Tucson, Arizona,  I am the son of a pipe fitter who worked for the federal government and a mother who worked as a waitress. Their dedication and work ethic greatly influenced my approach to both my professional and personal life. As a devoted father of three girls, I strive to balance my professional achievements with my role as a dedicated parent.

I earned my undergraduate degree at Rutgers University, where I was also captain of the baseball team – a role that sharpened my leadership skills. I earned my MBA in 1991 while working for Avis Rent-A-Car as Director of Revenue Management, where I refined my strategic planning and financial oversight abilities.

In 2002 I started my own company to aid an aging population demographic, allowing them to remain in their own residence as they enter the next phase of life. Out of this venture I was provided a wealth of experience in small business management. After selling the company to a venture capital group in 2019, I continued to contribute to its success through M&A activities and strategic growth initiatives.

My career journey has been marked by senior-level positions at prominent companies where I honed my skills in profit and loss management, balance sheet analysis, budgeting and fostering teamwork in highly competitive corporate settings. I have been the key driver of growth and innovation and taken pride in mentoring the next generation of business leaders. These experiences have given me valuable insights into corporate dynamics, government contracting and community engagement.

I have become deeply involved in the local community, joining the Ward One Residents Association, and actively participating in meetings and activities of the group. Recently I undertook an effort on my own, working with various non-profits on a Spa Creek Flood Mitigation program for our Ward One neighbors. Additionally, I umpire/coach baseball and referee basketball from middle school levels through college for men and women.

“Tom brings a combination of common sense, deeply inquisitive and logical thinking, and the energy to plow through the reams of data points to get to the bottom of the issue. While others may take the emotional path, Tom will always steer the conversation back to the practical.”
